My name is Ilana Wexler. I'm 12 years old, and I am the founder of “Kids for Kerry.”
Kids for Kerry is a grassroots organization of kids that support John Kerry, want to help their futures, and get active in politics.
When my parents went to see Teresa Heinz Kerry speak, they told me that she was amazing! -- and that they thought John Kerry would make a great President. I decided to find out more about John Kerry. I talk about what I learned by using my ABCs.
“A” is America. John Kerry is a hero to America, and he will help our futures. He is a great and positive role model.
“B” is Better education. John Kerry wants to make class sizes smaller, so that children get the best part out of learning. He wants to help teachers because being a teacher is educating children, and letting them out into the world to do good things.
“C” is Compassion towards children. John Kerry wants to make sure that health care is not a privilege, but it is something that we can all afford.
This summer, I was supposed to go to my favorite camp. But instead, I decided to go to the John Kerry office every day. Kids can really help!
On , we have an interactive presidential quiz. There are 270 questions for the electoral votes John Kerry will win. Plus, 25 questions to make up for Florida from the last election.
Our next goal is to have a petition for “National No Name-Calling Day,” a day that the candidates don't say anything negative about one another. When our Vice President had a disagreement with a Democratic senator, he used a REALLY BAD word.
If I said that -- If I said that word, I would be put in a “time-out.”
I think he should be put in a time-out.
The last time I saw John Kerry, he grabbed my arm and said, “See you at the convention.” And here I am!
What will be even more amazing will be the inauguration in January, when we have a new President, knowing that kids have made a difference in this election.

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. It’s great to be here. First of all, thanks for your coming. Tonight, what I am gonna talk about is innovation. Who can tell me what is innovation? What I do can save millions of people’s lives. For a long time, what challenges me is how to commercialize research. You come up with a great idea, but moving that new discovery from theory to practice or from the lab to the marketplace, that's really a big job. That’s what we should focus on. So many people under estimate the power and importance of a smile, that simple little facial expression characterized by an upward curving of the corners ofthe mouth.
A smile has many meanings: pleasure, friendliness, welcome, amusement, and many more; and it is part of a universal body language that doesn’t need any extrainter pretation.
Plus a smile, with all its simplicity and beauty, can be a very important factor in many aspects of our lives:
You fall in love with a new country you visit because its people greet you with a welcoming smile everywhere you go; other countries you just don’t like even though they might have more history, nature, entertainment and what not because their people don’t seem so friendly or accepting.
You feel like buying from a certain store when the vendor welcomes you in with asmile, sometimes even if you wouldn’t initially have bought anything; and in other stores, even though they have exactly what you need or better, you decide to walk away because the vendor doesn’t look welcoming at all.
You want to give a waiter a good tip when he serves you with a smile, even if the food turns out not that good; on the other hand, sometimes you’ll have some of the best food ever, but you won’t feel like giving the waiter a tip, even if you do, because he was grumpy.
More and more examples from our everyday life show how much a simple smile can change everything.
Forever engraved in my mind will be the smiling faces of the people of Thailand, the friendly pizza delivery boy, the welcoming supermarket vendor, the nice cashier at the bank, … etc.
It is these smiles that keep me wanting to go back, and that keep us all wanting to go back; looking at it from another view, if we break it down using business sense, a smile is one of the most effective means to generate sales and develop customer loyalty.

I am a student from Xinhua High School in Chongqing，China. Informed that you have a vacancy for a student to serve as the spokesman for animals, I cannot resist my inner excitement,hoping to seize the opportunity to do something for animals .
In my mind，nothing can delight me so much as caring for animals. Wherever I go and whatever I do, I usually keep in mind that animals are angels from the heaven, which bring us endless comfort and pleasure. I have been a panda lover since my childhood. Panda is so lovely that brings fun to people and they are regarded as the treasure of our country. Unfortunately，such a rare species is now faced with the danger of being extinct。What I am eager to do is to raise people’s awareness of animal protection and appeal to more people to care for our earth companies.

你们的孩子来到这里已经半学期了。今天，我们在这里相聚，目标只有一个，那就是为了孩子们能更好地成长和学习上能取得更大的进步。我先作个自我介绍：我叫黄燕燕，是本班的英语教师。
我的发言分四个部分：汇报班级情况，交流三个问题，几点温馨提示。
一、首先，跟大家汇报一下班级学生现状
1. 班级学生现状
我们班总共 名学生，上周我校进行了半期考试。我把半期英语考试的情况简单向各位家长作个汇报。平均分 分，优生 人，优生率 %。排名前十名的有 ;与九月份第一次月考相比，进步较大的学生有 。 通过高中半期的学习，大多数学生都具有良好的英语学习习惯。学习积极性较高，能够自觉完成老师布臵的作业，深知英语学科在整个高中课程的重要性。
2.存在问题：
1)早读课容易瞌睡，每天晚上加夜班的同学比较多，导致早上精神状态不好。
2)部分学生的学习方式仍然停留在初中甚至小学阶段，从不自觉主动地去学习(从他们对作业的认识和处理方式上就可以看出来)
3)部分学生抄袭作业，少数学生作业拖拉甚至不交作业
3、分析期中考试成绩
4、正确看待、冷静分析这次考试成绩
二、其次，想跟大家交流四个问题
1.首先和大家交流一个问题：孩子上了高中以后，总有一部分家长很纳闷：我家的孩子在小学能考到八九十分，初中也能考到七八十分，为什么到了高中，成绩不令人满意，甚至有些失望呢？
这个问题的答案首先与各个学习阶段的特点有关：小学阶段以赏识教育为主，要在很小的时候培养学生的自信心，试卷内容大多与课本有关，因此考试分数自然会很高。初中则是以普及教育为主，考试会照顾到大部分学生，因此分数也较高。但是，高中教育，特别是在以高考为最终目标的大背景下，就是以选拔为目的了，所以，考试难度与深度会有很大的提升，得分率自然就会下降，孩子们的考试分数自然会低一些。所以拿初中甚至小学的分数来衡量孩子们高中的学习，是不科学的。
其次，与学生自身的学习方式和学习习惯有关：高中阶段学习科目多而且难，要求学生必须学会自主学习(自觉主动地去学习)，即变“要我学”为“我要学”，再也不能像初中甚至小学那样靠老师和家长盯着学，那样成绩自然会下降。
2.第二个问题，为什么同一个班级的孩子三年后成绩差别那么大？成绩进步大的一定是那些学习习惯和个性好的孩子。孩子为什么会这样，其实因素很多，这不仅仅与学习基础有关，最主要的是与孩子的心态、学习方式及学习习惯密切相关。学生的学习方式及习惯是极其重要的，直接影响和决定学生的成绩。不要到高三时才感慨，现在我们不是不想学，而是在高一、高二时没有养成良好的学习习惯，没能改变自己的学习方式以适应高中的学习，现在只能是心有余而力不足。因此，现在必须努力学习。
在此，我希望家长们要时时关注孩子的学习习惯和个性，也就是情商问题。大量的实例证明了一个人的成功主要取决于情商，其次才是智商，两者的比例大概是7:3。既然知道英语学科举足轻重，就必须爱英语，以十足的干劲学好英语。
3.第二个问题，请家长们正确看待孩子在班级的考试名次，当孩子名次退步时，原因是多方面的，首先帮助他树立信心，然后一起帮助分析原因，而不要盲目地批评甚至打骂孩子。“望子成龙，望女成凤”是我们共同的心愿，但在高一更应注重孩子学习习惯的培养、学习方式的转变，让孩子快乐的成长进步，严格遵循教育教学规律。
4.有些孩子还没有适应高中的学习，还不知道高中阶段怎么学，希望家长们高度关注。高中学习科目多而难，时间紧，主要靠学生自主和自觉地学习，老师主要是引导和辅导、检查和督促，而不像初中那样盯着你学习。说明学生在学习目的、学习兴趣上还需培养。
订正的习惯，督促学生建立错题集，当堂发现的问题，当堂订正，不拖拉，不滞留，将问题解决在发现之处，从而保证知识点的连� 这些习惯，会让学生真正的乐学、好学，在成功中追求快乐，在快乐中追求成功！
四、我想对在座的各位家长提出几点温馨提示。

(1)帮助孩子确定适当目标
和孩子一起确定一个他能够达到的目标——家长适度的期望值。
孩子是家长的希望，教育好孩子是老师的希望。父母对孩子期望值的高低直接影响孩子将来所取得成就的大小。期望值一定要有，而且要恰到好处。
期望值过高：孩子拼命按家长的意愿生活、学习，也许父母感到满足，但孩子生活得较为压抑，甚至影响心理健康。尽力后仍达不到家长的要求，双方均失望，可能导致孩子自暴自弃；
期望值过低或没有：家长对尚不自觉的孩子期望值过低或没有，孩子会缺少外在精神支持，认为不重视、无所谓。
适度的期望值：在原有基础上适当拔高，不操之过急，不高不攀，否则可能大家都失望。
(2)帮助孩子增强自信心
(3)关注孩子成绩的变化(即名次的升降)而不是绝对名次
(4)沟通---多倾听孩子的诉说
(5)多和老师尤其是班主任联系，及时了解情况，积极配合班主任和老师做好孩子的思想工作
只有有效的家校联动(沟通与合作)，才能教育好学生。
(6)注重学生学习习惯和学习能力的培养，使学生养成良好的学习习惯

多一些问候(在孩子累了的时候)
多一些帮助(在孩子需要的时候)
多一些关心(在孩子软弱的时候)
多一些鼓励(在孩子泄气的时候)
多一些宽容(在孩子犯错的时候)
——家是孩子心中最温暖的地方。
5)教育子女相信自己、相信学校、相信老师。
4、温馨提醒3
1)高一是基础，希望这次考试成绩不理想的学生家长要高度关注，尽快想法提高学生的成绩，到了高二、高三要想提高就很难了，因为一方面学习任务越来越重，另一方面学生的自信心和兴趣应尽早树立(他们中有一部分人的自信心在初中已经受到打击)
2)我的联系方式：
我们所有的努力只有一个目的：让您的孩子在这里成人成才。我们欣喜地看到，在全体师生的共同努力下，学生在进步。我们所做的一切都是为了学生的一切，当然这离不开您的支持和理解，我们有理由相信，在家校良好的沟通合作下，学生会有更大的进步！

如果我问在座的各位，你们的青春谁做主？你们一定会说：我的青春，我做主。不错，我们的青春是有我们做主。但我想说的是，我们的青春该怎样做主。是在游戏的世界里厮杀 还是整天用QQ聊天，抑或是每天睡到十二点。我的青春，我做主，不是叫你挥霍青春，如果每天都在游戏里厮杀，你的青春就不在是你做主了，而是游戏在做主你的青春。我们通过十二年或十三年的寒窗苦读，来到大学，或许没有考上我们的理想的大学，或许没有选择到我们自己喜欢的专业。这不是我们堕落的理由，更不是我们挥霍青春的理由。我的青春，我做主。 不是要我们挥霍我们的青春，虚度我们的年华。而是要做主，我们奋斗的青春，激扬文字的青春。
我的青春，我的梦想！
既然谈青春，就一定少不了梦想。我们带这梦想来的大学，但是好像很多人都忘了我们最初的梦想。每天不是上网就是到处瞎逛，就在这一天有一天的瞎逛与游戏中，渐渐的遗忘了我们的梦想，甘愿堕落，甘愿平凡。各位是否忘记了自己最初的梦想，如果没有忘记梦想，又是否在为实现梦想而奋斗呢？这个世界从来就不缺少梦想家，缺少的是实践家，有梦想就要去奋斗，去实现。我的梦想是成为高级工程师，虽然很遥远，但我从来没有放弃过，一直就奋斗着，追逐着。远方有梦在飞翔，奋起双翅起追逐。为了自己的梦想，奋斗吧！别在犹豫。

亲爱的领导、老师、同学们大家好！
在这个太阳正晴、秋风送爽的日子里，我们欢聚一堂，隆重举行初三年级毕业典礼，我感到无比的温暖与幸福。
人们常说，树有年轮，社会有年轮，我们师生也有年轮，我们的年轮总是在一个学年的结束，尤其是学生毕业的时候具体的凸现出来。同学们，你们马上就要拿上红灿灿的毕业证书，跨入新的学校或走向社会去构建自己新的年轮了，这是人生的历程碑，是你更加宏图大展的时� 请允许我代表初三的所有老师，向你们表示衷心的祝贺！ 祝贺你们的成长和进步，预祝你们在将来的学习和事业中取得更辉煌的成绩。
同学们，三年前，你们带着童贞，带着梦想，带着家长无限的期望，从不同的学校，从四面八方来到五中，开始了三年的寒窗苦读。三年里，我们师生朝夕相处，同甘共苦，一起在知识的海洋里滂渡，彼此间结下深厚的友情。三年里，你们关心热爱集体，严格遵守学校纪律，刻苦努力学习，尊敬师长，团结同学，处处助人为乐，一举一动都为低年级的学生做出了表率。三年里，你们曾凭借自己的聪明才智和拼搏精神，为五中创下了一次次的辉煌，使五中威震全区。五中为有你们这样的学生而感到骄傲，五中忘不了你们，五中的老师忘不了你们，五中的光荣榜上永远记者你们的名字！
回顾三年，多么难忘，你们教室里黑夜灯光的静谧；多么难忘，运动场上你们矫健的身姿；多么难忘，你们为了一道道数学题争得面红耳赤；多么难忘，小卖部、饭摊前你们热闹的拥挤。如今校园内绿树成荫，它渗透着你们的汗滴，一块块五彩斑斓的黑板报，还留着你们熟悉的笔迹，校园的角角落落，哪一处不印着你们的足印，教学楼内外，至今还回响着你们的欢声笑语。三年中，你们在母校有追求，有失落，有得意，有烦恼，有欢乐，有忧愁，有友爱，有孤寂，现在最有的是别情依依……三年很长，三年也匆匆，记得有首歌唱道：“将来会有那么一天，我们要走得很远很远，告别了亲爱的老师，告别了熟悉的校园，带着老师深切的期望，去把少年时代的理想实现……”,将来的那一天，不就是今天吗？今天你们要告别母校，像一只只羽毛渐丰的小鸟就要飞走了，此时此刻，你们可知道和你们朝夕相处的老师对你们有多么留恋？又有多少遗憾？我们恨不能让时间车轮倒转，让我们共同再来重塑三年，若是那样，我相信，我们的老师将会做得更加尽善尽美，同学们也会更加珍惜每一天。
离别的日子，总觉着不安，我们担心，担心你们，这一只只小鸟羽毛未必全丰，是否经得住今后的考验；担心你们，在今后的航程中，是不是会触礁翻船；担心你们，在攀登科学高峰的路途中，能否捷足先登，莫问高，只顾攀……还是把担心变为临别前的叮咛和期盼吧，我们盼望你们，不管走到哪里，你都别忘了你曾是五中的一员，你的一举一动绝不给五中丢脸；盼望你们，今后学习历程再艰难，都不要叫苦喊累，要勇往直前；盼望你们，象颗颗螺丝钉，不管放在哪里，都要坚守岗位，金光闪闪；盼望你们，遵守法纪，出淤泥而不染；盼望你们，勤于学习，修心养性，树立科学而正确的人生观；更盼望你们，学习工作的捷报往母校频频传。
千种叮咛，万种期盼，请你永远珍惜和记住这一天，请你记住你的老师，你的同学，记住他们的姓名、仪表和特点，请让我们握手，彼此道一声：珍重，再见！并用微笑表示感谢和祝愿，不管地老天荒，我们都彼此息息相关，让我们携起手来，去共建更辉煌的年轮，去创造更美好的明天！
