today is may 16, 20__.there is less than a month before the collegeentrance examination. i still remember the day before the examination. i and youever made great effort to realize a dream of entering a university. and now weare here.
but most freshmen are dissatisfied with the life in university in the firstterm, before i went to university, i viewed university as a freedom paradisewhere i can do anything i like. but when i get here. everything turn to be outof my imagination. i have to do a lot of homework everyday just as in seniorhigh school. living condition is not as good as in my expectation, food here isfar from being delicious. and that is what most freshmen complain about.
but i must say we should still enjoy the life in university because it isthe most worthwhile in our life.
firstly ,it is the time we begin to form our outlook of our life. we attendclasses, go to the library, surf the internet. all of these provide us withvaluable knowledge and information.
secondly university life is rich and colorful, without heavy task, we getmore time to take a break develop some hobbies. these will surely make our lifemore wonderful.
finally in university we can develop our social skills as well as knowledgeand wisdom necessary for hunting a job. small organizations in school canprovide a variety of opportunities of leaderships as well as teamship. takestudents union for example. it is a place where we can get our abilitiestrained. all of these prepare for our future.
time is money, but money can not get back time.four—years of college life is short in a person’s life. do not waste time anymore. try to be confident and dynamic and try to make our university life morewonderful and meaningful. believe that we can fly and we are sing in thesky.
money is not very important, but very very important.
if there is no money, i can’t use this microphone to speak to you and wecan’t have such a room to hold such a competition. without money, we can’t studyin such a schoolyard. without money, we can’t live in such a hometown. withoutmoney, we can’t have such a motherland. on the other hand, if there is no money,you don’t need to bear my speech about money now.most of us have dreams aboutthe future, dreams of having a good job and making much money. surely someonehas thought at times “if only i had a lot of money, i could be the happiestperson in the world.” in fact it’s the main mistake that people make aboutmoney.
however, is money the road to happiness? not really! many people work everyday, work overtime, work weekends to make a lot of money. are they happy? no.they are too busy making money. meanwhile, their personal lives, if they haveany, fall apart. they have no time to form or to maintain friendship. they evenlose the abilities to relax and to enjoy themselves. enjoying means takingthings, taking time to see, to hear, to taste, to smell, to feel. they do nottake time to do this. they say: “i’ll do it when i have enough money to retire”then they find that it is too lat.
