As we all know, happiness is something that every person is chasing. I always try my best to find out what is the true meaning of happiness. And I think I got it last week.
It was an ordinary Saturday morning. I felt a little tired because of the preparation for the mid-term exams. It was not long before my mother came in with a large bunch of white roses picked from the seller’s gardon. During the next few minutes, we were both busy putting them into a big cley case. Looking at the flowers, I found the dark sitting room became bright, so did my mood, just like a person gets some fresh air when he feels dizzy. All the feeling of boredom flew away.
Then I remember a poem named “Life could be worse”， which said:” For the weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard. For my alarm that goes of in the early hours, because it means I am alive. And finally, for too much e-mail, because it means I have friends who are thinking of me. “I learnt that happiness is not the diamond in a necklace, nor a dream far away, it’s just your attitude towards life.
If you realize it, a simple cup of cola with ice can bring you a cool summer, for happiness is so ordinary that it’s right in the palm of your hand.

Most Chinese students have difficulties in learning English. The difficulties vary so much from person to person that it is difficult to cite here in a few words. Some may have problems in reading. Others may have trouble in writing. I also had problems in English learning, but my difficulty seemed to lie in listening. For example, when tested for listening comprehension, I couldn't understand a single sentence, let alone a passage of medium level.
In order to overcome the difficulty in my English learning, I made great efforts to find the key to the problem. I consulted my teacher and found out that I merely didn't have enough time to practice listening. So I bought a tape recorder and listened to it at least two hours a day. In addition, I listened to "Special English" on VOA. I also went out of my way to speak to foreigners on the campus whenever we meet so that I could have the chance to listen to the native speakers. After half a year's hard work, I could get 70% of the questions correct in listening comprehension tests.
I own my success to my English teacher. It is him who tells me the correct way to learn English. It is him who always encourages me when I encounter difficulties and feel disappointed.
Being polite is a good tradition in our country.Nobody likes a person who is impolite.It 's important for us to be polite.We should be a polite student.
As a polite student,we shouldn't talk at class.If we have questions,we should put up our hands.We also shouldn’t speak loudly during the break.And I think it’s impolite to be late for class.When someone is in trouble ,we shouldn’t laugh at them.We should often say "please","thank you".
If everyone is polite to others,the world will be more and more beautiful.

I remembered I had some problems in math homework in one of the summer vacation.I was so worried,because the vacation was coming to its end and I had no way out .I decided to ask my math teacher for help.So,I made up my mind and encouraged myself to call my math teacher.And she was so patient that I understood more besides my homework.See,that's the way and the ability to overcome the difficulty.
Each person whether rich or poor has his own difficulties, because life is not always full of smiles and flowers. So it is very important to have a correct attitude to face up the difficulties.
Different people have different views on it. Some people just want to evade and they haven’t tried their best, so they can’t achieve success in the end. But some people believe that “Failure is the mother of success”,they are confident and brave when they have difficulties. All the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year 20xx,because life without a GREeting is like the sky without the sun.Greetings are very important for the whole world,in my opinion.
But I don't know whether GREetings are enough for us.Especially when we meet with failures .I remember quite clearly that when I was a child,if I fall down and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me"Please stand up from where you fall down!"

I remember, when i was a child, there was a yard behind my house. i used to sit with my grandma under a big tree. in the tree, birds were chirping and dancing happily and freely. with grandma’s soft cradlesongs and birds’ singing, i would quickly fall into a sleep of sweet dreams. at that time the sky was so blue and clear. at night, twinkling stars dotted the sky. the verdant leaves and their fragrance impressed me so much that i still have a clear picture of them in my mind even today.
But now i can hardly hear a bird sing, the fragrance can only be found in the depths of my memory, and stars have hidden themselves behind gray buildings and even the sky is gray. i dont know when things began to change. but what i do know is that pollution and waste disposal have presented serious challenges to our society. environmental pollution is just like pandoras bo, and we are the victims.
We must do something to change this terrible condition. hosting the beijing olympics gives us a great opportunity to show the world it can be done. “green olympics”, one of the three basic themes of beijing olympic games, is our promise to the world that we will work towards cleaning up our environment.
Therefore every one of us should take some practical actions. you might say, “but i am just an ordinary citizen. what can i do? i have no responsibility.” but in my opinion, we can start with small things like our daily routine, such as not to litter, avoid using disposable food containers, cups and chopsticks, save every drop of water and so on. we must always remember that it is necessary for everyone to participate in order to save our planet.
Remember green is the color of life, green is the color of nature, and green is the color of the world. green will be a symbol of beijing in the near future! let us work together and keep green alive forever!

Hello, everyone. football is originated in ancient china which was called cuju at that time. cuju has a long history of over two thousand years. it started from chunqiu period and was very popular in song dynasty. in song dynasty, even the women loved play cuju at that time . as everyone knows, ,gao qiu ,the worst government official in the novel of water margin , specializes in playing cuju and by coincidence, he met the prince, and then he was promoted to an aga.
unfortunately, due to the limitations of the feudal society ,nobody played cuju any longer in qing dynasty. and now, cuju is protected as a kind of culture heritage in china .

When I was seven, I started learning English. I played games and sang English songs with other children. Sometimes, I watched English cartoons. It's funny. Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world.
I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit Washington, because my cousin is over there. Of course, I want to go to London too, because England is where English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge University, I will be very happy.

To learn English well,you need a lot of patience and stamina.well，I do come across some difficulties.It's all right for me to write in English.However,the spoken English isn's so easy for me.
There's few opportunity for me to listen and speak to native speakers,so I have problem in speaking .
But it doesn't matter.Since then ,I always listen to the BBC learning English as well as VOA ,I learn their voice by heart and try to imitate it .Before long ,my spoken English get improved.Hence,there's no difficulty as long as you have a willing heart.To learning English well,you must believe in yourself and try your best every time you meet an obstacle.One day ,you'll succeed.
My hometown is Haimen. It’s not very large, but it’s very beautiful. There is less air pollution in Haimen than in other areas of Nantong. There is a beautiful park; its name is Dongzhou Park. You can exercise and go walking there. There are about one million people in Haimen. Most of us live in flats. They are not very high. There is a supermarket here. Its name is Times Supermarket. It has three floors. It is very large. There are many things in it, such as clothes, snacks, stationery, an electrical shop and a bookshop. There are lots of hotpot restaurants in Haimen. I think the Old House Hotpot Restaurant is the best. I like eating hotpot very much. There is a lot of delicious food in this restaurant.
In Haimen, there is a TV tower. It’s very high and in the evening it is very beautiful. I think there are lots of nice lights on the TV tower.
The weather in Haimen is good. In spring it’s warm. Many birds fly in the sky. The flowers are very beautiful. It’s hot in summer. We keep air-conditioners on every day. It is cool in autumn and in winter it’s very cold. Do you like my hometown?
