My home village is a small one. It’s in Yuxian county of Shanxi Province. Small as it is, it’s very beautiful.
There are many hills around my home village and they are more beautiful than some big mountains. In spring, we can fly kites which are made by ourselves on the top of the hills. The kites fly very high.In summer, the trees are green and the grass is green, too. It is green everywhere on the hills. There are so many wild apple trees on the hills. The wild apples are nice to eat. In autumn, the corns under and around the hills are ripe. So we eat them almost every day. In winter, when it snows, all the ground is covered with snow. We can play with snow and sometimes we eat the clean snow with sugar. In my hometown the sky is blue, the air is clean, the water is sweet and the people are very friendly. I love my hometown!

My Pet
When I was a child, I really want a pet, like ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs, even a pig! Finally, my parents bought me a puppy as my birthday gift. I really love it, it was really lovely. When I was tired, it always made me happy. I take it for a walk every evening. I was very happy when we get together. In a word, pets can bring us a lot of fun, they are important to us.
What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way. Well, let’s make a fist. Where is our future?
Where is our love, career, and life? Tell , it is in our hands. It is held in ourselves.
We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go better itself. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. From the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.
As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. The past has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “We are the world, we are the future.”
A famous American poet says well, “Life is short, art is long.” Everyone should work hard and study well. Never waste any time. Now we are young, it’s high time for all of us to make up our minds to study for our county. Youth time is like a happy bird. If it flew away, it would never return. Nothing is more precious than time.
Today some students spend too much time enjoy their lives such as eating, clothing, traveling and so on. Others spend too much time reading books of small value and little importance. A lot of time has been wasted. They have no idea that waste of time means wasting of one’s life.
While we are young and full of vigor, let’s work hard.

In recent years heavy smog often appear in many cities of China, which has brought bad impact on our daily life. Since the value of PM2.5 inthe air is in the high level, many people wear masks to protect themselves when going out. Once in an area, due to the emissions of smoke from coal burning and car exhaust, the atmosphere was so heavily polluted that people couldn’t see their own fingers just in front of them and some schools and airports had to close down.
When a strong sand storm is blowing, the whole sky will turn darker and darker. It looked as if we had been spending the night when the sun is high upin the sky. It is high time we tackled with the pollution problems.
All factories in the cities that puff heavy smoke should be closed down or moved into the remote areas. All cars that emit black smoke should be banned from running on the roads. If we don’ttake resolute measures to protect our environment, our sky will never turn blue again, the air we breathe in every day will never be clean and our health will be deteriorating day by day. Therefore we appeal to the entire fellow country men, let’s take concerted action to safeguard our living environment.
Premier Li Qiang, in his work report, had called on us to tackle with the pollution problems. Following the Premier’s call, some local governments had taken some measures, such as reducing the use of coal and putting restrictions on the use of private cars to fight against the pollution. As long as.
We take resolute measures to protect our environment, we can see a clear.
Blue sky in the near future.

History
Historian Nicholas Rogers, exploring the origins of Halloween, notes thatwhile "some folklorists have detected its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona, the goddess of fruits and seeds, or in the festival of the dead calledParentalia, it is more typically linked to the Celtic festival of Samhain, whoseoriginal spelling was Samuin (pronounced sow-an or sow-in)".The name is derivedfrom Old Irish and means roughly "summer's end".Snap-Apple Night (1832) byDaniel Maclise.Depicts apple bobbing and divination games at a Halloween partyin Blarney, Ireland. The name 'Halloween' and many of its present-day traditionsderive from the Old English era.
The word Halloween is first attested in the 16th century and represents aScottish variant of the fuller All-Hallows-Even ("evening"), that is, the nightbefore All Hallows Day.[4] Although the phrase All Hallows is found in OldEnglish (ealra hālgena m?ssed?g, mass-day of all saints), All-Hallows-Even isitself not attested until 1556.
All Saints' Day

(All Saints' Day, All Hallow's Day或Hallowmas) 是每年11月1日 的欧美大节日。
For thousands of years people have been celebrating different holidays andfestivals at the end of October. The Celts celebrated it as Samhain (pronounced“sow-in”, with “sow” rhyming with cow)。 The Irish English dictionary publishedby the Irish Texts Society defines the word as follows:
“Samhain, All Hallowtide, the feast of the dead in Pagan and Christiantimes, signalizing the close of harvest and the initiation of the winter season, lasting till May, during which troops (esp. the Fiann) were quartered. Faerieswere imagined as particularly active at this season. From it the half year isreckoned. also called Feile Moingfinne (Snow Goddess)。(1) The Scottish GaelisDictionary defines it as ”Hallowtide. The Feast of All Soula. Sam + Fuin = endof summer.“(2) Contrary to the information published by many organizations, there is no archaeological or literary evidence to indicate that Samhain was adeity. The Celtic Gods of the dead were Gwynn ap Nudd for the British, and Arawnfor the Welsh. The Irish did not have a ”lord of death“ as such.
many people burn incense and kowtow, do good deeds and strive for virtues, not just for the present, but mainly to let god see their sincerity so as to be reborn into a better afterlife, or to achieve the highest enlightenment after several lives of practice. they do believe in afterlife. but i can't help asking: suppose there were no afterlife, would you still do good deeds and strive for virtues? and if god does not see what you are doing, would you still be so upright and selfless? if you work, not for serving the public and liberating the others, but just for a better afterlife of your own, isn't it a little too selfish? comparing with this kind of believers, those who don't believe in afterlife, but still keep doing good deeds, are the most sincere and honest philanthropists, because they do them not for themselves but for other.
On Friday night, I went to bond with my classmates for Halloween.
Standing at the gate of bond, there was a huge, terrifying ghost thatgreeted us as if we were in the devil's hell.
There are some students in there who pretend to be ghosts, but I'm not likethem. I'm a witch.
Inside the most fun is hungry you damn fool reborn, my classmates and Iplay, first with his left hand to touch her ears, with his right hand twist yournose, bent down, turn around three times in situ, the teacher put potato chipsin our nose, using your tongue to eat potato chips. Dear teachers and schoolmates, my name is Carl, today I am going to talk about Computers.
Computers are machines with which people are very familiar. Why do many people like to use computers? There are many reasons. First, computers can help you know more and more knowledge. Secondly, computers are friends of human beings , really wisdom ones. Whenever you need help you can turn to these friends.
Thirdly, with the development of the World Wide Web, computers can help you keep in touch with your relatives and friends. When my father went to the USA for business, we missed each other very badly. My helpful friend, computer, made it possible for my father and I to talk face to face.
However, as it's known to all, a coin has two sides. Computers also have some shortages. Some students are addicted to computer games and spend too much time playing it. Therefore, they are not able to keep path with the academic progress. Besides, sitting all day long in front of the monitor is bad for our health.
Let's make friends with computers
Thank you for your listening.
Halloween Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the even
ing before All Saints' Day. However, it is not really a church holiday, it is a holiday for children mainly. Every autumn, when the vegetables are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkins. Then they cut faces in the pumpkins and put a burning candle inside. It looks as if there were a person looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called jack-o'-lanterns, which means "Jack of the lantern". The children also put on strange masks and frightening costumes every
Halloween. Some children paint their faces to look like monsters. Then they carry boxes or bags from house to house. Every time they come to a new house, they say,"Trick or treat! Money or eat!" The grown-ups put treat-money or candy in their bags. Not only children, but most grown-ups also love Halloween and Halloween
parties because on this day, they can disguise themselves as personages or ghost as their imaginations will lead them. This bring them the satisfaction of being young.
