Life is a choice In our daily lives，we have many choices to make，such as what to eat for supper，what clothes to wear，or what to do on weekends. At certain times in our lives，we need to make even more critical choices，such as which school to attend，what job to take or who to choose as husband or wife. Yes，life is a mater of choice. Seemingly，it means a choice of tangible things. But in essence，it means choosing a way of life. Life is to be lived，saved，and enjoyed，not to be wasted or complained about. Hardly can we forget the time when our society faced the grave threat from the life-and-death disease-SARS. Yet，even during those dreadful times，some afflicted people remained optimistic. Instead of wearing neutral white masks，some people turned to colorful ones and thus display a happy mood. And some creative people dubbed SARS to mean“Smile And Remain Smiling .” I was deeply touched by their optimistic，nearly forgetting that we are still in a battle，people who survive these kinds of circumstances，decide in their minds to carry on in spite of the overwhelming odds. Laid-off workers typically regarded as the victims of economic advancement，are subject to desperation that being unemployed has brought on them. But encouragingly，we have witnessed some of them striving hard to rebuild confidence toward life and discover new opportunities for demonstrating their values.
Although we cannot choose our appearance，inborn gifts and even avoid unexpected disasters and adversities，we do have the privilege to choose to live optimistically，to love our lives，to have dreams，and to cherish hopes.
Every morning when we get up，we have a choice of how we want to approach life that day. As for me，I choose to be cheerful.
no young man believes he shall ever die. it was a saying of my brother's, and a fine one. there is a feeling of eternity in youth, which makes us amend for everything. to be young is to be as one of the immortal gods. one half of time indeed is flown-the other half remains in store for us with all its countletreasures; for there is no line drawn, and we see no limit to our hopes and wishes. we make the coming age our own-

Like other students,I failed in subjects again and again.At the begining of studying English,I tired my best to do it well,however,I recevied noting ,I cried in my room.My mother asked me what happened,I said :"I cannot do it. why ?why did I pay much but receive noting ? I want to give up!"
My mother was in slience for a while,then she wrote to me:

As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story.
65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.
In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth.
He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.
When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.
Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character.

回顾我过去15年在英语教学中的经历，我发现没有什么绝对有效的“教学经验”，只有我尽责的态度和严格而灵活的教学方法。总的来说，在英语教学中取得好成绩的关键就是“付出多少就收获多少”。英语教学涉及的内容非常广泛，接下来我会分享一些我在实践中的做法和心得体会，请大家批评指正。在我过去15年的英语教学中，我深刻领悟到并没有一种万能的“教学经验”。我所拥有的是一种认真负责的工作态度和严谨而灵活的教学方法。总结起来，想要在英语教学中取得好成绩，就必须在平时的努力付出与成绩之间建立正比关系。英语教学所包含内容十分繁杂，接下来我将分享一些我在实践中的做法和心得，欢迎各位批评指正。
一、建立良好的师生关系，做一名学生喜欢的英语老师。
英语教学中，在学生成长的过程中，他们需要知识，更需要被关爱。关爱既是一种情感，也是一份责任。作为一名英语老师，除了要拥有精湛的业务水平、敬业的精神和全面的知识，更重要的是要像对待自己孩子一样去爱护学生。人与人之间的情感是相互的，虽然学生们年纪还小，但他们心里都有一颗敏感而真诚的心。只要我们真心地关心他们，他们一定会用令人惊喜的回报来回应我们。“深挚的师生情谊让学生对你产生信任，并愿意跟随你的引导前进。” 只有让学生喜欢我们，他们才会信任我们，并朝着我们指引的方向发展。
多年来我在英语教学中积累了丰富的`经验，不仅能够激励自卑的学生，指导后进的学生，启示自负的学生，还能发现特殊的学生并为他们提供专门的服务。我对每一个学生都充满关怀和关注，用心与他们进行交流。我用爱和温暖来抚慰他们的心灵，致力于建立师生平等、和谐相处的关系，共同进步，打造一个温馨的学习家园。
二、狠抓英语课堂教学，构建“和谐高效、思维对话”型英语课堂。
现在正处于应试教育向素质教育转轨时期，既要求减轻负担，又要求提高教育质量，这就要求我必须在英语课堂上下功夫，提高英语课堂教学效率，我通常注重以下几个方面：
1、认真备课。
大家都知道，备好课是上好课的前提，备课包括三方面，备教材、备学生、备教法。备教材。我总是提前翻阅各种材料、教师用书、学习资料及以往的相应试题，对于哪些是重点难点，哪些知识点扩展到什么程度，会以什么形式出题，做到心中有数。备学生，就是要了解学生的年龄特点、接受能力、知识储备情况，这样可以避免起点太高，学生听不懂，或起点太低，学生感到无聊的情况。备教法。每一级每个班学生特点各不相同，所以我非常注重仔细研究学生，采取适合学生的方法导入新课，用学生易于掌握的方法讲解新知，用学生感兴趣的方法组织课堂活动。
2、用激情带动学生，焕发英语课堂活力。
我希望在充分准备好的基础上，每当走进教室时都能充满热情。哪怕身体不舒服，心里烦恼，一站到讲台前，我都会带着微笑，精力充沛地面对学生们。我会充满激情地讲课，抑扬顿挫，因为快乐的情绪是可以传染的。如果我能将愉快的情绪和积极的心态传递给学生们，他们的英语学习效率可能会大大提高。
3、关注每个学生，提高课堂凝聚力。
讲课时，我的视线遍布每个角落，始终用眼光爱抚每个学生，学生的每个动作和眼神都逃不过我的眼睛，并且与学生进行眼神的交流，久而久之，每个学生都会感到老师一直在关注我，从而使他们集中注意力，认真听讲。
4、精讲多练，提高英语课堂效率。
初中生的注意力集中时间只能持续十五到二十分钟。如果英语老师是“一张嘴，一支笔，从上课讲到下课。”的教学模式，就会出现“老师讲得天花乱坠，学生听得昏昏欲睡”的现象。新课程理念要求我们重视学生在课堂上的主体地位，少讲多练。少讲并不意味着粗略讲解，一带而过。初中生的接受能力还是有限的，对于重难点的知识，我会根据学生特点细致的讲解，多举例，多操练，讲一点，练一点，讲练结合，让大多数学生都能跟上，参与活动。讲得太粗太快，学生跟不上，学不会，久而久之，就会慢慢失去学习兴趣。俗话说“庄稼齐了才打粮”，只照顾尖子生，不符合素质教育的理念。一定要面向全体学生，才会取得良好的英语教学效果。

Firstly, make sure that you pay enough atte- ntion to yourpronunciation and intonation. Otherwise, you might make yourself alaughing stock. For example,“CanI use your bike?”yousay,“CanI use your back?”“Passme the case,
please”.yousay,“passme the kiss, please”Obviously,here you mispronounced the two words “bike”and“case”.Thatwill certainly cause misunderstanding. it is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. this is only true if you pursue it unwisely. gamblers at monte carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money, which often succeed. so it is with happiness. if you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. his method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous. for most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. but i think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. if you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common.
the most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. but there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. the whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly.
it had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. but when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. it is the simple things that really matter. if a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. if, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen–a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. this is a humble conclusion, but i cannot make myself disbelieve it. unhappy businessmen, i am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.
Discovering Beauty
As everyone knows，English is very important today.It has been used everywhere in the world.It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well，we will have more chance to succeed.Because more and more people have taken notice of it，the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.
But for myself，I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness，but also because of my love for it.When I learn English， I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When I read English novels，I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.When I speak English， I can feel the confident from my words.When I write English，I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...
